It seems that the Android's security flaw which has been discovered last week, motivated security companies to launch their mobile security software to the leading Smartphone OS platform.
Gartner (Technology research leader) stated in their recent study "Android became the most popular Smartphone operating system worldwide in the first quarter of 2011". Surprisingly, Android's market share has dramatically grown in one year from 9.6 percent to 36 percent.In turn, ESET, the security software provider, has done its own research and found that 81% of customers do not have any antivirus software installed in their Smartphones. The research also showed that from 2000 users, only 6% of them has installed antivirus, where 36% were aware their phones at risk, however, they did not install any antivirus whilst14% believe that the security is already built-in in their devices.
For all these reasons, ESET has decided to build a mobile version called ESET Mobile Security, which is available right now in beta version in the Market.
